BIODIESEL STARTED IN AND CONTINUES TO GROW IN MISSOURI… AND BEYOND
In this edition, farmer Kyle Durham discusses how Missouri basically started soybean farmers’ involvement in biodiesel in 1991. His grandfather Don Heil was part of the original group that supported biodiesel. He discusses the start of the industry and how it continues to grow today with the support of checkoffs in other soybean-growing states, as well as the United Soybean Board and American Soybean Association.

SOYBEAN FARMERS ARE HELPING TO DRIVE THE BIODIESEL MARKET
In this edition, Minnesota farmer Jim Willers discusses how biodiesel was created by U.S. soybean farmers to use excess soy oil and the industry has continued to grow since. Today, with an operating capacity of three billion gallons, the biodiesel industry benefits farmers, consumers, the environment, and economy.

BIODIESEL IS NOT CONCEDING TO ELECTRIC VEHICLES IN CARBON CONVERSATIONS
In this edition, Kansas farmer Bob Haselwood discusses the role biodiesel is playing in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and tackling climate issues. He says electric vehicles will play a role in the light-duty market, but there are a lot of unknowns to consider. Biodiesel, on the other hand, works in any diesel engine and is ready to lead the way in carbon reduction efforts, especially in heavy-duty markets.

BIODIESEL IS GAINING MOMENTUM FROM COAST TO COAST
In this edition, Dennis Gruenbacher, a soybean grower from Kansas, discusses seeing the excitement of people who use biodiesel and the growing demand for the fuel during his travels to New York, California, and many places in between. Biodiesel users are found all over the country because it’s widely available and is ready for consumers to use now.

THE GROWING BIODIESEL INDUSTRY IS NOT TAKING AWAY FROM AVAILABLE LAND, FUEL, OR FOOD SUPPLIES
In this edition, Greg Greving, a farmer from Nebraska, discusses how biodiesel is made from by-products and uses readily available and diverse resources. The biodiesel industry doesn’t require new land and hasn’t caused any changes to available land or agricultural production. Instead, the industry uses excess soybean oil without taking away from available food, fuel, or land sources.

BIODIESEL IS READY TO HELP MEET CARBON REDUCTION GOALS ACROSS THE COUNTRY
In this edition, Scott Gaffner, a farmer from Illinois, discusses how biodiesel, a proven carbon reducer, is readily available today and will continue to help address climate challenges in the future. It will take a diversified approach to reduce carbon emissions. Electric vehicles will play a role in the reduction of emissions but will require new equipment and infrastructure. Biodiesel, on the other hand, is here now and works in any diesel engine or can be used in existing infrastructure systems.
