Portland International Airport Portland International Airport has used B20 in most diesel vehicles and equipment -- tractors, mowers, snow removal equipment -- since 2002.
"The Port's Air Quality program focuses on minimizing air pollutant emissions associated with our aviation and marine activities. We've implemented numerous strategies to use cleaner-burning fuels, including ultra-low sulfur diesel, compressed natural gas, and biodiesel, which generates less sulfur, carbon monoxide, and particulates than conventional diesel fuel. The Port began using B20 biodiesel fuel in 2002 to power all diesel vehicles at PDX, with the exception of fire trucks, and we currently use approximately 50,000 gallons a year," said Rachel Wray, Environmental Outreach Manager.
