At Peace Coffee, we hope that our use of alternative fuel will encourage other individuals and businesses to purchase renewable fuel and high-efficiency vehicles. Peace Coffee was a dedicated 100% Fair Trade coffee company before it was the flavor of the month. Since 1996 we've been buying our beans direct from farmers, providing pre-harvest financing, and roasting them as well as we know how. In the Twin Cities metro area, we deliver by bike year-round and our suburban accounts get their coffee from a big bright biodiesel van (it runs on whatever is at the fueling station, sometimes they offer B80, B20 and B2. Another way we've changed our supply chain is by co-founding Cooperative Coffees, a coop of roasters formed to import 100% Fair Trade coffee direct from the farmer coops that grow it. We love our organic beans too much to let anyone else roast, pack or distribute them – it all happens under one eco-friendly roof in Minneapolis.
